The Institute conducts creative work and systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources and shall review literatures or previous studies in order to establish facts, increase the stock of knowledge or reach into new conclusions.

The strategic importance of research fields are but not limited to government policies, laws, natural resources, environment, agriculture, mineral, oil and gas, industry, water, economic, market and society, sustainable development, state and nation building, heritage and culture, government and democracy, governance, peace and security, justice system, accountability and transitional justice, human rights, constitutionalism, rule of law, services delivery and distribution of resources, traditional institutions, civil societies, culture, ethnicity, marriages, religion, international and regional security and geopolitics, conflict management and resolution, refugee and migration, science and technology, geography, land, population and census.

The Institute’s works shall involve collection, organization and analysis of information and careful consideration of study regarding a particular concern or problem using scientific methods to make a finding.

The methods of researches shall depend on the field of study or type of research in question or bidder, for example, experimentation, qualitative, quantitative, doctrinal, international relations/law approach and etc.
